Process
We believe in process only to
the extent that it serves the end result of building your
business. We remain flexible in all that we do.
However, we have found
certain processes help expedite and simplify an engagement.
Moreover, processes can be helpful in assuring that expectations
are being managed all along the way.
Our basic engagement process
is as follows:
FIRST
We jointly discuss the
objective of the engagement and the outcomes that we would like to
seek. We make sure we both agree to those, first and
foremost. We never discuss costs until we have gone through this
exercise.
SECOND
We (SagePoint) draft a plan
to accomplish the objectives we have jointly agreed to and present
this to you for your approval. This plan will include the
cost of the engagement based on the value it brings. If we
don't feel we can bring you significant value far in excess of our
fee, then we will decline the project
THIRD
We go to work. Almost
always this includes a fairly significant discovery phase where we
interview and learn. We seek to understand all the relevant constituents
to the issue.
FOURTH
We share our thoughts and
findings as we go along. We insist on our engagements being dialogues
with our clients. We are their to make an impact on the
business (and the client), not just to create fancy
decks.
FIFTH
We develop your Product,
BrandPoint, TouchPoints, Business Plan, Marketing Strategy, or
agreed upon deliverable. We apply the methodologies and the
tools of our trade to your issues. We think. We think
hard. We problem solve and create. We pretend this is
our own business and we decide what is the right thing to
do.
SIXTH
We provide a
"landmark" presentation to the players who will have to
buy into and execute on the plans. We prefer to make this
presentation a day long off-site with an orchestrated day of
immersive learning, thinking, digesting and planning for
success. We view our role as more then advisors. We
view our role as teachers, and facilitators of successfully
building the business.
