Ethics

We have all agreed to a set of strict ethical principles that helps guide us through situations that might otherwise get sticky.

Confidentiality

We hold your business secrets sacred.  Loose lips sink ships.  We will not divulge private information.  It is wrong, unethical and improper for us to do this.  We will only discuss information about a company that is already public information.  Private information we will keep to ourselves.  See More on Confidentiality.

Honesty

We have heard consultants (not in our firm) say, "Well let's give them what they want," in regard to the information being putting together.  I absolutely cringe when I hear that, it is so disloyal and so dishonest.  If our intention is to be "trusted advisors" then we MUST be completely honest with you about what we learn, think, discover, or conclude.  We will be honest with you.  No matter if this is painful for you or not.  No matter if this costs us work or not.

Advise to do "Right", not "Wrong"

We always advise a company to do the "right" thing, the moral thing, the legal thing.  Occasionally it might seem that taking a moral short-cut will result in a short-term win.  Even if this is the case we will not recommend doing something wrong.  No matter how enticing that might seem.

We work to build businesses.

We work to build businesses, we don't necessary work to build personal careers.  We have found that generally if we focus on building businesses, we will indeed build careers, but we work for the good of the business.  When a conflict arises between the needs of the business and the needs of the client we will side with the needs of the business.

SagePoint of View

It is best to have correct principles in mind and let those principles guide decisions and your behaviors.
