Billing
We believe it is
unethical to charge for our work.
Did that get your
attention?
Let me explain.
We believe we should only charge for value delivered, not
work done. So we prefer to bill you based on the value we
provide you, not by the
hours we spend doing it.
We used to bill by the hour,
but experience taught us that when we do, the nature of the
project is one of cost minimization, not value maximization.
Shifting to billing by value, not time is a subtle paradigm shift,
but it yields powerful results for our clients.
It is pretty basic. If
we can't bring value to the table then you don't pay, in fact, we
won't even do the work at all. We prefer to jointly determine that we
1. We can bring value to the table, then 2. We determine what that value is
worth to you and that is how we like to bill.
This is truly a win/win
approach.
You know what value you will
be getting upfront and don't pay for things that are of no use to
you. It forces us to be disciplined up front
to make sure our joint expectations are clear. We have found
that unclear expectations are the only time we run into any
problems. This approach insures that expectations
are clear.
You will find that we are not
motivated to drag
our feet and rack up hours doing busy work (we leave that to the
attorneys). Rather we are incented
to find ways to really impact your business in dramatic
fashion. Remember we exist to build your business. So
if what we do doesn't have value to the organization, we shouldn't
be doing it. |
